Mobility Consultant Spotlight Award
Spotlight Winner for Week ending Friday, October 23, 2009
Our Spotlight on Mobility Consultants, for week ending Friday, October 23rd. Our winner recognized will receive a $50 Award, a Spotlight Certificate and his name will be placed in the 4th Quarter drawing, at the end of December, for a $200 Award.
Today's Spotlight is focused on Allen C., VA/Hospital Mobility Consultant in Culloden, West Virginia. Allen began his mobility consulting business January 4th of 2009 and previously owned cookie franchises. Allen supports the Veterans' needs in the Clarksburg, Beckley and Huntington, West Virginia hospital facilities.
Allen and his wife, Robin, have 3 children - a son who lives in West Virginia, a daughter who lives in Washington DC and their youngest daughter who attends the University of Pittsburgh. Allen likes the outdoors and often goes boating and fishing. He also enjoys watching ball games.
Allen remarked that he enjoys the freedom of being in business for himself and he values the ability to help Veterans gain their independence. He has had to overcome a fair amount of objections due to picking up responsibilities in a pre-existing territory and he consistently finds ways to penetrate his VAs by finding new reasons, of benefit to the customers, to go back.
Allen's approach is definitely working - he attained $25,937 in revenue for September and has sold $6,000 and counting in equipment in October to date. Congratulations on your Spotlight Award,Allen. Welcome to the VA/Hospital team.

Today's Spotlight is focused on Steve D., U.S. In-Home Mobility Consultant in Evansville, Indiana.
Prior to beginning his mobility consulting business, Steve worked in pharmaceutical and nutritional marketing and sales for Bristol Myers and Meade Johnson.
Steve and his wife, Sarah, have two children and enjoy hunting, woodcarving and raising horses. When asked what attracted him to the mobility business, Steve responded that he was drawn to the benefits of being an independent contractor and working with a family owned business.
Though Steve began building his mobility consulting business less than 30 days ago, he has earned some impressive statistics including: an 80% completion rate, a 30% closing percentage and a $3,200 average sell price. Steve credits following the best practice process he learned in orientation and product field training for his strong closing percentage. He describes the best sale he has closed to date as the one in which the outward appearance of the prospect's less than attractive circumstances would have turned most salespeople away, due to prejudging. Steve instead said to himself that his demo would be good practice to perfect his sales skills. Steve's presentation and test-ride resulted in a scooter sale, paid for in cash.
Regional Manager, Charlie Licata, said that "Steve is well on his way to becoming a master of closing by realizing that sales is an art form and that cutting corners in the sales process is the same as taking a cut in commission."
Congratulations, Steve, on your Spotlight Award and on a great start to your mobility consulting business. Congratulations also to Roger D., VA Hospital Mobility Consultant, whose name was drawn from among 3rd Quarter Spotlight Award winners. Roger will receive a $200 Award.

Today's Spotlight is focused on Nicole M., Canadian In-Home Mobility Consultant in Calgary, Alberta. Nicole joined The Rascal Canada Team July 16th and previously was a field sales representative with CMS Famous Toys and Canadian Merchandising Services. Nicole made a poignant comparison between her experience in toy sales and Rascal sales. She said that some days she sold hundreds of toys but never really had a meaningful conversation with anyone. But with her mobility sales business,Nicole says she gets to know her customers well and to learn a lot from the people she visits daily, most of whom are from a different generation.
Nicole is a busy "Hockey Mom" with two sons, Preston, 14 and Trayen, 8 - both avid hockey players. All of her free time is spent driving the boys to and from ice arenas for hockey practice, games and tournaments.
Nicole has been described as quietly confident, highly motivated with great energy and very articulate. When asked how she remains upbeat and motivated, Nicole credits Sales Training Manager, Paul Creighton, whom she describes as "an amazing person - even on down days, he brings you back up."
And Nicole has much to be confident about. In her short time as a Mobility Consultant, she has completed 37 demonstrations, sold 9 scooters for a 24.3% close rate and sales revenue of $26,494.
Congratulations on achieving a Spotlight Award, Nicole, and such a fast start.
